Dojo Etiquette: BKC
- Always be on time for class
- Remove shoes and all jewellery before entering the Dojo
- Let seniors enter the dojo first
- Be polite to your instructors, seniors and elders
- Line up according to belt (highest on left of dojo)
- Bow when entering or exiting the dojo
- While training, listen carefully and seriously to the advice of your Sensei and always acknowledge that you have heard and understood the advice
- Keep your Gi neat and tidy
- Keep fingernails and toenails short to prevent injury
- Handle all equipment with care and put it back in the right place
- Students may not criticise each other
- No student shall provoke violence or allow themselves to be provoked
- All personal, religious, or political agendas are to be left at the dojo door. Karate is not a practice to promote or further any of these individual beliefs or practices, and we will not be associated with it outside the dojo
- Practice the highest level of respect to all dojo staff and members
- It takes more than a Sensei to make the dojo safe, happy, and successful
